Terms

Last updated 31 October 2026

The short version. Tabbynote is a private notebook you keep in a browser. You own what you write. We run the service and keep it working. If you are unhappy in the first 30 days, ask for your money back and you will get it.

If we ever shut the service down, you get 90 days' notice and a full export of everything you wrote. That promise is in these terms, not just on a marketing page.

1. What this is

Tabbynote is operated by BorlandTech LLC ("we", "us"). It is a web application for capturing notes, reminders and tasks, keeping them private to your account, and exporting them again. It is a service, not software you install, and it runs on servers we operate.

2. Your account

3. Your content

You own everything you write. We claim no ownership of your notes, and no licence to use them beyond what is needed to store them, show them back to you, back them up and export them at your request. We do not analyse your notes, do not train anything on them, and do not read them except where you ask us to help with a specific support question.

You are responsible for the content you capture. Do not store material you have no right to hold, and do not use Tabbynote as a system of record for anything where a lost note would cause harm — see availability below.

4. Price, payment and refunds

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Tabbynote to break the law, to store or distribute material that is illegal in your jurisdiction, to attack or overload the service, to attempt to access other people's accounts or data, or to resell the service as your own. We may suspend an account that does any of these, and will tell you why unless a legal order prevents it.

6. Availability and changes

7. If we shut down

If Tabbynote is going to stop operating, we will give at least 90 days' notice by email to every account, keep the service running during that period, and make sure you can export everything you wrote. Export is free, so nothing stands between you and your notes.

8. Ending your account

You can ask us to close your account at any time; we delete your notes and account record. We may close an account that breaches section 5, or one that has been inactive for a very long period after we have warned you by email.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable. Export exists precisely so that you can.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, United States, and disputes are subject to the courts there. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stands.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we will post the new version here with a new date and email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change; if you do not, ask for a refund of any unused period and export your notes.

12. Contact

Questions, refunds, account deletion or anything else: support@borlandtech.com.
